Reviews
Absolute horrible experience here.
Server was not remotely any where to
Be found the entire time we were there. Couldn’t make drinks- jack and ginger, white sangria, sex on the beach- excuse was “bartender is new”.
Charcuterie board was no fruit, old tasting crackers and huge chunks of cheese. Two salads that we tasteless and made with some weird lettuce..
An hour and a half later we finally received our meal..mine came on a skillet and was
cold and in an inch of grease . His was two really small pieces of pork and a few veggies.
Was told we couldn’t take home one dessert and then they were out of another- took two mousse cakes home that tasted as if there was alcohol or cleaner in it.
Decor was nice except for the lights that had every other light bulb out.
Was charged $157.00 for food not eaten and drinks that were terrible.
Definitely will not be back
We were staying at the Hotel on North and wanted to eat here but honestly were put off by the negative reviews.
Our experience wasn't bad at all. The wait staff were good. Order was correct and food tasty.
We had the charcuterie plate which was definitely worth it if you added the cured meats. The cauliflower dish was also delicious.
The beer and wine selections were good, but not great. Cocktails were well made.
While our experience was good, it does feel like the restaurant is still trying to figure itself out. It definitely has potential to be a very good place.
Food was alright. Drinks were good. Nice looking place. Criminally understaffed, it took 30 minutes before anyone asked if we wanted a drink or menus.
No shade to the two total waitstaff running the floor, they were clearly working hard trying to accommodate everybody but there was too much going on for just two people to handle (it was a Saturday night)
Interesting place.
It's sort of part of the hotel on North.
It is however independent from the hotel.
The calamari was excellent : crispy and light with perfect amount of chew.
The fries with truffle were good, but not exceptional.
Basically, the fried were same as with any meal. I expected much thicker and meatier fried , crispy outside with soft creamy interiors.
The burger was well cooked with tasty toppings.
Good vibes, great food, drinks, and service. Quiet and comfy. Cannot emphasize enough how good the seasonal cocktails and the octopus dish with the patata brava and the braised rib special with polenta was. Even the side salad was exceptional.
The servers were excellent, but the food was mediocre. Scallops were excellently seasoned. But overcooked and rubbery. The strip steak was perfectly cooked. But everything needed a little more salt or other seasonings. I thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie, though. The spicy mustard was good.
It is with sadness that I truthfully report a very disappointing meal at BP in Pittsfield. Were it not for decent drinks and appetizers, and a friendly and attentive waitress, Brandy, I would have refused to pay for the meals. In a nutshell:1 Wrong entree served ( duck instead of trout? How do you confuse those?)2The duck itself was uncooked, bleeding onto the plate, and shockingly gross. 3The hangar steak was also underdone and tough, even beyond the expected firmness of that cut. 4 Finally, the place was freezing and apparently the staff was powerless to turn on the heat, really?
I want to see Pittsfield's downtown thrive, but an experience like this would drive anyone away.
I go here a fair amount with my beautiful wife. The food is pretty good, but a bit expensive. Good ingredients but at the prices they're asking I'd expect a little more zing. Good drink menu and ambience. Service is good
